Feeding our Community

Our belief is that no one should go hungry. We do our part by giving away thousands of pounds of food every week to families who are in need. The food that we distribute includes meats, fresh produce, dairy, fresh prepared meals, baked goods, etc.

We teach reallocation. If we can help them save money on food, they can reallocate those funds to help with their rent, utilities and other bills. How wonderful it is to have a full refrigerator and to be able to sit at the dinner table with a full plate of food.

No Questions! No Charge! Just Compassion!

We provide weekly food giveaways as well as a large monthly giveaway. Our pantry is open on Tuesdays at 4:30pm and on Thursdays at 11:30am and again at 4:30pm. The Farmers’ Market giveaway is the last Saturday of every month from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Visit our gofundme page to donate to help us purchase a refrigerated box truck.

Clothing Distribution

Our clothing bank is an effort to reach out to our community to provide clothing to families and neighbors who are in need.

The clothing bank relies on the donations from members of our city. We accept new (still in the package) socks and underwear, shoes and new or GENTLY USED clothes.

We do not accept furniture, linens/bedding, luggage, appliances, technology, toys, games or baby equipment. Due to space restrictions, we are limited to ONLY providing clothing and shoes.

Donations can be dropped off at the South Gate Learning and Resource Center office during business hours Tuesday - Friday 10am-4pm.

November to Remember our community

We are so thankful to be a part of the Las Vegas Community and want to remember those who need a Thanksgiving meal. Our Center provides families with a fresh turkey and all the sides to complete their meal. The weekend before Thanksgiving, we hold a free farmers’ market where we supply fresh produce and meal basics. At South Gate, we want everyone in Las Vegas to have a perfect Thanksgiving with their family.

Operation Christmas Gift Giveaway

Christmas is a season of giving and celebration. There are so many families who do not know if they will be able to provide for their family at this time of year. Each year, we have a program called “Operation Christmas Gift Giveaway". Every year, we sponsor many families with a meal, a Christmas Tree or toys for their children. Hundreds of children receive gifts to make their Christmas memorable.
